Yeah, Colbert’s comedy (his whole persona really) is definitely tongue-in-cheek. His show was originally designed as a satire of The O’Reilly Factor so his whole ‘character’ is a spoof of Bill O’Reilly. In out-of-character interviews I’ve definitely heard him support some pretty liberal ideas.
