I guess we have no choice…
Because the square root of -1 isn’t a concept around which irrational belief systems are built. Because the square root of -1 isn’t wrapped up in people’s personal identities. Moreover, if the concept of a deity was as objectively viewed as the square root of -1, it could be effectively studied in school as a philosophical concept. Finally, the only way to get the god idea to that point is to have a comparative religion curriculum that allows students to compare and contrast the diffferent god hypotheses and the belief systems they generate.
